| ok so heres the deal. i've joined forces with a group of folks doing this thing called a 30 hour famine, its a way to raise awareness about starving people around the world and the money goes to this Christian organization that gets food to those who need it around the world. See its estimated that about 26000 children under the age of 5 day every day from hunger/poverty/disease, and personally i'm not cool with that so by doing this fundraiser thing here with this group, every dollar we earn can feed a child for one day. so i got this little link to a site i'm about to put on here that you all can click on and donate some money to this excellent cause. what the group i'm doing this with is doing is we are not eating for 30 hours and i believe we are sleeping outside in the cold night while doing this, as for 30 hours we will pretty much be living like those we are hoping to help with the money we raise. some of you may be thinking hey i dont wanna give to a christian organization, well think of it this way this cause is not so much about preaching and all that, its about feeding people who are dying because they have nothing to eat, they are too poor to get food. so give if you want, dont give if you dont want...ask me questions if you have more you'd like to know.

oh ya, and you have a couple weeks to give, we're not doing this until a like 2 or 3 weeks from now i think it is...
its tax deductible too!!! i'm pretty sure it is at least, it should be since its a non-profit organization...

| whats up.
so first thing first and the main reason for this post is i made a new banner...theres a lot more going on with this than my usual simpler designs but i kinda like it...i even made a stab at making a background for the first time ever...i just wish i could figure it out enough to make it stretch across the whole page from side to side...perhaps i'll get that worked out sometime, if not oh well i'm not too tore up about it...
ummm yeah now on to the rest of whats been going on....
tried snowboarding last weekend, i sucked....not really in any type of hurry to try it again, but it was fun and i had a good time hanging out with the folks i went with....good fun peoples...
i found out the gamestop like 1 minutes from my house is hiring store managers, i think i'm probably going to be applying to this...a) cuts down my commute by like 100%....b)gamestop employees always seem so fun and laid back and like good fun people...c) hopefully discounts on games and what not....d)gets me away from the job that i currently have and hate....yeah, i think i'm probably going to be going for this and holding that down until i find out about my application to university of toledo and other various things that would relocate me from this area...
everyone should check out the movie RockNRolla....its awesome, nuff said....
i've been very reflective in my thoughts lately...lots of time has been spent thinking about my life now compared to what i was a few years ago....i miss how creative and inspired i used to be....i need to work on renewing my musical creativity, and possibly finding people to form a band with, i greatly miss playing in a band and writing music with other people then playing that music for other people to enjoy....honestly, if i could have one peice of my life that ive lost, placed back into my life it would be the lighthouse tragedy....great friends in that band that i miss talking to and hanging out with now, and we played so well together, our musical minds seemed to work very well as we were often able to write songs in just a matter of minutes, and out of the bands i've been in i believe this band wrote the best songs and was personally my favorite band to have been in....
i've now been inspired to rank the bands i've been in from favorite to least favorite and why... 1. The Lighthouse Tragedy... (our music was so good and we were shifting into our own unique sound and style before we broke up...the music, and lyrics were perhaps the most genuine out of the bands i've been in and it was just good stuff, we meshed well together) 2. Martyr Shop (cult classic at its best...our live show was second to none, no one could compare to our ability to capture the audiences attention...never knew what was going to happen or be said while recording or while playing shows...and way awesome music videos) 3. Autumn's Fall (despite the instability and questionable behavior of dave, this was probably the most talented band i've been in...the krabill brothers are such incredible musicians and i learned so much playing with them, dave's musical genius is top notch, his ability to take our good songs and turn them into something so much better constitently impressed me....plus we put on one good high energy show) 4. Golden Glove (i couldnt stand writing songs or playing our songs...so simple, so boring, so generic....fun times at practice, played lots of shows....loved playing our shows and hanging out with the great people that watched us and shared the stage with us....i just didnt like our music, it bored me so much to play and write)
well thats all i got for now....
give me some ideas of things to post about, topics you want discussed (serious or not serious)...people you want me to talk about (nice or not nice)....memories and things about me and my past (personal and close or impersonal and distant)...anything...i wanna get back into writing on here more, so give me things to write about...
currently playing: Black Keys - "Oceans and Streams"

| well i finally have photoshop back now....this is exciting enough for a post, i know...its awesome...
i spent a good 2 hours downloading fonts....i dont have many brushes yet only a few ms parker shared with me, but i will be getting more....
oh, and with the little bit of things i have right now i made a quick new banner, nothing great just something new that i threw together in like 5 minutes which mean once i get new brushes i'm changing it cause i'm not sure how i feel about it....ten points to whoever knows the song that quote is from, and knows it without looking it up!!
i guess i'll post a little on whats going on with me now while i'm at this...
job: sucks, boring, ready for something new...while i'm sticking around here at this moment i'm thinking about trying to see if any gamestops in the area or ohio are hiring managers, thatd be a fun place to work....dan has hooked me up with a steady supply of ads for jobs with infocision in various parts of ohio which i am probably going to apply to some of them here and there in the next month or so...im looking at others jobs too in ohio, and DC area and around here a little bit....so we'll see what happens, i need a change of pace from my current job, its time to move on...
school: going good, still got my 4.0....i currently have one article under review for publication in american history review (a pretty decent academic journal)....my current class right now is on how cultures throughout history have clashed and spread and mixed, its pretty interesting....when i finish this course i will be a little over halfway done with my masters....i'm working on getting my application together so that i can apply to the university of toledo, and try to transfer there for next fall, so that i can finish my masters with them and be placed right into their phD program....
music: i've been writing some music on my bass and my acoustic lately...i have decided not to get my acoustic fixed, as i have grown to embrace and like the unique sound it can make when several frets are played....mostly this writing has just been instrumental stuff cause well frankly i hate writing lyrics, i like them for a day then scrap them and hate them at best so i'm sticking to instrumental stuff....i may record some of it some day but dont hold your breathe...
along with music here is the top ten bands i've been listening to lately (in no particular order): jet black keys old canes manchester orchestra lovedrug my epic appleseed cast the lyndsay diaries spoon the get up kids
does anyone wanna be on amazing race with me?
thats it for tonight...
currently playing: starflyer 59 - "fell in love at 22"
ps: i'm going snowboarding this weekend for the first time since 11th grade or something like that so if you dont hear from me this weekend i died falling down the mountain after crashing....or i just broke my arms....either way itd be hard to do much...on the other hand i could be amazing and you'll see me on the winter X games this year...place bets now!!
